With WeGo, children aged 5 to 12 can stay in contact with their parents wherever they are. Sprint launched the phone with several useful features and a very simple interface so that children can learn quickly. WeGo has two side volume keys that can be used also for scrolling on the display, as well as a large front button for calling.
Parents have the possibility to locate their children on the map via an online portal and a dedicated application. They also can control the phone’s features and set notifications. For example, the child’s connections can be limited so that only specific phone numbers are allowed for outgoing or incoming calls, and that is available also for SMS messages. The child using WeGo can select for sending from 50 predetermined messages.
Notifications that parents can set to receive from the child’s phone include low battery, message read receipt, device powered down, speed alert, panic alarm pulled, wake alert, or changes in the admin control site.
WeGo was designed to be water-resistant and shatterproof. Parents can acquire the phone from Sprint with a 2-year contract of $5 per month and $9.99 per month for the WeGo Service, which includes 1000 talk minutes and 1000 text messages.
