The Zyroshell Phone Cradle was designed by G. Burt Lancaster from Lancaster Resolve Technology as a modern alternative to those clumsy cradles that don’t even match a clean car’s interior. The solution is a sleek cradle made from aircraft grade aluminum that replaces cheap-looking plastic arms using ball joints and swivels with a simple system based on reusable non-adhesive sticky pads and the magnetic hinge technology. The model was launched last year on Kickstarter, where it quickly raised its funding goal, and now everyone can have one.

Zyroshell Phone Cradle is lightweight and small, at 120 grams and 55 x 91 x 17 mm, so it becomes invisible under your iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S4 or other popular handset. It was designed to hold smartphones, GPS devices and even tablets weighing up to 400 grams and looks great on the office desk, dashboard and windshield.

I like that it increases mobility mobility while driving or working at the computer, thanks to the 360-degree rotating and 180-degree tilting capabilities, so you can adjust its position according to your desired viewing angle.

Features and Accessories

The aluminum cradle holds your handset with the round sticky gel pad. When you remove the handset, you can cover the gel pad with the included dust cap to keep dust away.

There is also the clear baseplate gel pad with a round magnet which sticks to your windshield, dashboard or desk. It enables 360-degree rotation even on curved surfaces. The baseplate gel pad, like the gel pad on the cradle, is reusable and doesn’t leave residues on the surface it sticks to, plus that you can clean them whenever you want with water and soap.

Besides the instructions sheet, the package also includes an auxiliary sticker that you have to place on the back of some handsets or cases to increase adhesion to teflon- or wax-coated surfaces.

You can use the Zyroshell phone cradle in many positions thanks to the pan and tilt features, but there’s one thing you should avoid – exposing it to direct sunlight for a long time will make it hot to handle, as it’s made from metal.
