The xD may be small in stature but its 128-horse power engine gives it a quick boost of power on the road, especially compared to other cars in the subcompact class. While it is fun drive the xD is also a top safety choice. The xD received five stars in both front and rear seat passenger safety in side impact collision in government crash tests, which is the top score possible. It also received four stars in both front-end collision and roll over rating. The xD also boasts a history of reliability being named the most reliable new vehicle in the United States in 2009 with more than 80 percent less problems than the average vehicle.

What’s New For 2013?

With the sixth generation model of the xD, Scion introduced some changes, including some minor aesthetic improvements and some added safety features. Among the safety additions, the xD now has both driver and passenger seat cushion airbags, as well as seat belt force limiters that have been upgraded and improved. Inside, the trim has been given a makeover, including improvements around the dashboard, which now boasts white-faced gauges. The exterior of the xD has some changes as well. The headlight housings now come in a smoke color and if you really want to change things up, you can get the xD in a two-tone color combination.
