I received this small mouse recently from Tmart along with other great gadgets for review and I was surprised to discover that this is not a common mouse. The specifications list mentions optical tracking technology and wireless connectivity to the computer. It’s a small mouse designed for laptop users, but works great in small hands working at the desktop computer.

On top of the mouse you can find the symbol for wireless technology and if you press on it, the mouse automatically releases the receiver hidden inside. I like this because I can keep the dongle inside the mouse when not in use and never lose it. I tried to find the battery cover but wasn’t lucky so while playing with the mouse I pressed on the opposite part of the wireless symbol and saw that the top part of the casing just opened. If you slide it out, you find the places for two AAA batteries that power the mouse. After setting the batteries according to the tiny symbols, you can quickly close the casing.

The red LED will start blinking to indicate the mouse is ready for use and you can connect the receiver to a USB port of the computer.

Another cool think is that the mouse features also two power-saving functions. Once you press the receiver back inside the mouse, the LED will stop lighting and the mouse won’t consume battery anymore. If you don’t use the mouse for a longer period of time, it will enter in sleep mode.

Other things you might want to know about this mouse is that it’s design is ambidextrous, the rubber-like finish feels soft at touch, and there are two buttons and scroll wheel. What’s less attractive about it is that you can use the mouse within the 1.5 meters supported wireless range and that it doesn’t work great on a mouse pad. I recommend you to use it directly on the desk’s surface.

The mini wireless optical mouse is available online for $11.52 at Tmart.com.

I want to thank Tmart for providing the review sample.
