Editor: Sierra Monica B. under: Home » Latest Gadgets » LG Optimus 3D as Mobile VoIP
There are many technologies that in their making and about to become common. One such technology that is still being used on a very minimal scale is the mobile VoIP. This technology lets you use the VoIP services on your cell phone through the use of special software instead of using it with the VoIP ATA equipment used on regular basis. Let us have a look at the features of LG Optimus 3D.
LG Optimus 3D specifications
LG Optimus despite of its big size weighs just around 5.93 ounces. The overall feel of the phone is very light and you won’t feel it once you will hold it in your hand. The looks can be deceiving at times, but in case of LG Optimus 3D, you can easily see that it is much better than many of the other so called big screen mobile phones. The phone hosts a 4.3 inches of display with 480 X 800 pixels density. The phone also supports the 3D parallax display which very few phones to this day are supporting. The phone has good viewing angles even from the sides though the display gets a little dimmer in bright sunlight. It is built on the candy bar form factor which lifts its aesthetic appeal up many times. The phone uses the TFT display technology and it can display up to 16 million colors. It has some useful features built in it with gadgetry like light sensor, proximity sensor and three dimensional views. The phone offers a talk time of 4 hours with a battery standby time of around 96 hours. LG Optimus runs on Android OS 2.2 operating system, powered by a dual core Texas Instruments OMAP4, 1000 MHz processor. The phone has a memory of 512 MB RAM with 3D graphics hardware acceleration. The phone features two cameras for capturing a photo in three dimensional photos capturing as well. Let us see now how can we use LG Optimus to use VoIP.
There are many VoIP apps for Android operating system. You can opt for any app that uses the same protocol as your VoIP service is using. For example, Axvoice uses SIP protocol and you can use SIP droid app to use VoIP on your LG Optimus. There are many advantages of using mobile VoIP.
The first advantage is of cost. When we talk about saving money, cell phones are pretty expensive to use. On the other hand, when we use VoIP service on a mobile phone, we have to pay the same rate that we will pay for a regular internet phone service.
Secondly, all the features that we are offered by VoIP providers will be available to you on your mobile phone on the move. Cell phones do not offer that many number of features to their subscribers.
Lastly, when you are using mobile VoIP technology, you will be able to use it anywhere in the world. You just need to have a wireless internet connection near you. There aren’t any other specific requirements for that. Cell phones like landline phones on the other hand are bound by location. Therefore you will also be able to enjoy more freedom with your cell phone.

Cool Feature! You just have to make sure that you have unlimited data plan so as not to bust your pockets due to data charges like what happened to me when I got my first smart phone and forgot to turn off data transmission.
I would not agree with Jason. I have been using Axvoice for more than two years and I have never faced any problem. During these two years, I never felt that I should switch to some other provider.
That’s a nice, shinny slim phone. Like the display. :)

Since the arrival of iphone, approximately all mobile menufacturers have launched their own brand of “iphone”. Now we have so many mobile phone sets that have touch screen. Until now, I have not seen anything new as far as the voice communication is concerned.
It is true. In past, ordinary land line service providers used to offer only a few fixed plans. However, voip technology has given freedom to the voip vendors as well as voip users and now we have more than one options for our individual requirements.
Chris is right. New mobile sets are offering lots of rings and bells. They are advertising their mobiles for audio songs, FM radio, high pixel camera etc. The basic aim of any phone set should be send and receive calls but manufacturers have completely forgotten that.
Yes majority of the mobile manufacturers are trying to concentrate more on rings and bells. I have tried many phone sets which have very good ear pieces but the voice quality during call is really poor. They can’t detect signals even 10 meters away from the provider’s antenna.
Be it mobile provider or a VoIP service provider the most important of all definitely is voice quality. Unfortunately, many of the VoIP providers are also focusing more on bells and other usless features. Very few of them have a focus on voice quality.
