Kinivo WID320 and WID340 are two new USB adapters that enhance an existing wireless connectivity so that you can access the Internet from rooms where the Wi-Fi signal is not strong enough. Unlike other similar adapters, the Kinivo models are available for affordable prices.
WID320 is the cheaper adapter and can connect only to 2.4GHz 802.11g/b/n networks but you only need to plug it in one of your computer’s USB ports to enhance the existing wireless connection. Alternatively you can place it up to three feet away using the included extension cable. The adapter features WEP, WPA and WPA2 encryption, and has three working modes – Infrastructure, Ad-Hoc and Soft AP.
The other model, WID340, features dual-band connectivity to 802.11g/b/n 2.4GHz and 802.11n 5GHz networks; WEP, WPA and WPA2 encryption; and up to 300Mbps transfer speed.
Both adapters work with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux operating systems. You can get them from Amazon for $9.99 and $15.99, respectively.
