Iqua Smart Badge is a stylish accessory for people working in different environments requiring wearing a badge with the name, function and photo.
Even if it was released on the market targeting corporate users, it is an useful accessory for anyone asked to identify himself/herself at the work place, but in addition to this, Iqua Smart Badge has built-in Bluetooth headset functionality. It’s practically a 2-in-1 portable gadget that you can use to receive and initiate phone calls via the wireless short-range connectivity.
We’ve received the Iqua Smart Badge for review and now that we know all about it we want to share the details with you, highlighting its benefits.
The smart badge comes in a nice box together with several accessories, such as the mains charger, a plastic window, a miniUSB charging cable, a black velvet carrying case that you can attach on your belt, a user guide and the quick guide on the back of the badge sample.
This is an innovative gadget consisting of a stylish silver case in which you can insert any credit card-sized badge, a silver strap for wearing around your neck, built-in Bluetooth headset functionality and built-in rechargeable Li-Pol battery.
After taking the badge out of the box you have to open it and install the plastic window inside it, then insert you own badge and close the case. Next you need to charge it using the included charger for about five hours. It seems a lot, but this ensures up to 40 hours of continuous talk time, or 600 hours of standby, which is pretty much, meaning you could use it to receive and make phone calls for a few days, even weeks, depending on how long you talk on the phone.
The included USB cable allows you to charge the badge via the laptop computer while on the go.
On the soft silver strap it features an earphone piece set on a magnetic support. You can take it out at any time and use it for talking on the phone hands-free, after pairing the badge with your cell phone.
On the top of the badge you can easily find the tiny power indicator and two buttons for controlling the volume up and down, while on the strap there’s a fourth button used to accept/reject incoming calls, switch between headset and phone modes, redial the last number, and also to activate voice dial, if your phone is supporting this technology.
Iqua Smart Badge is an easy-to-use gadget that connects to your cell phone in two simple steps: first keep the power button pressed until you see the green and red lights flashing alternatively and then set the phone to start searching for Bluetooth devices until it detects the Iqua badge as BHS-608. Enter the passcode 0000 and connect the two devices.
According to the specifications, the Bluetooth badge uses subtle vibrations to alert you of incoming calls during meetings, and supports 3-way conference calls, up to eight Bluetooth devices paired one at a time, as well as VoIP Internet calls via your computer.
It connects to the PC wirelessly and can be used as a wireless speaker and microphone via instant messaging applications such as Skype.
You can get the Iqua Smart Badge Bluetooth Headset from Mobile Fun for £14.95.
