Braun Cruzer 6 Face Hands-on Review

Being undecided on what to buy this year for your guy’s birthday and with the upcoming holidays in mind, you might want to consider an electric shaver as one of the first options, because important occasions require high-quality products and when it comes to electric shavers, Braun should be at the top of your list.

Today I will tell you everything I learned about the electric shaver received from Braun as a test sample for this review. I talked to my husband and he picked the Braun Cruzer 6 Face trimmer because it was designed to focus on all the needs of a man’s face.

Cruzer 6 Face Features

Like the previous versions of this shaver, Cruzer 6 Face is a 3-in-1 device, working as a shaver, styler for the beard and trimmer. In other words, it can be used to make beard uniform, shorten it, make modern beard styles, and for clean shaving. The cordless technology allows you to use the shaver anywhere, while the wet&dry technology makes it great for use even in the shower. The wide head covers large areas with fewer strokes and the pressure-sensitive system adapts the head to your own pressure. Another key feature is the click-and-lock system for changing the four length settings easily, while the twistable trimmer with two different ends style sideburns and the moustache
The shaver has a charging LED indicator that shows when the battery is fully charged and this happens in only one hour to enable 30 minutes of continuous shaving, while the quick-shave capability allows you to get one shave after only 5 minutes of charging.

Switching to an electric shaver

At first, my husband wasn’t very enthusiastic about switching to an electric shaver, because he believed in a myth stating that the type of your first razor influences the way your beard can be shaved for the rest of your life. More exactly, if you start with a classic razor at an early age, you won’t be able to use an electric shaver properly at 30. My husband already tried an electric shaver a few years ago and that model couldn’t cut the facial hair to zero, like a classic razor does. That’s why we were curious to see how things will go with a newer model, from Braun, who are famous for their electric shavers. We said that if a new Braun shaver can’t do this job, no other shaver could.

What I also want to mention is that my husband’s hair is very thick, hard and stubborn, and there are areas on his neck where even classic razors give him a bit of a headache.

What’s in the box

Cruzer 6 Face comes in a nice package with a box full of accessories. In it I found the adjustable blue comb, the 3-day beard comb & protective cap, a small precision comb, a charging stand, the charging cable, the Braun appliance oil, a small comb for cleaning the shaver’s head, and the user manual.

Using the Braun Cruzer 6 Face

My husband has been using the new shaver since three weeks already. We didn’t get to beard styles yet, because at his workplace he’s required to be clean shaved, but we’ll get to that in the upcoming holiday. We tested the shaver in work days and week-ends to see how it handles beard after two, three or four days since the last clean shave.

First sessions were pretty annoying, having a stubborn husband who was moving the shaver like a classic razor, using short and quick up-and-down moves. Electric shavers don’t seem to work that way. You need to give them a little more time to cover all the tiny hairs. After a while (and a few kicks from me) he got used with it and now he’s happy to have one of these.

The slightly mobile head of the shaver adapts to the pressure applied by your hand and, even when used over a mole, it protects the skin.

In case the beard is several days old, first you need to use the flat rotating trimmer on the back of the shaver, to shorten the hair a bit and then continue with the shaver’s head for a clean shave. I couldn’t do it without trimming it first.

Why I like and recommend Braun Cruzer 6 Face

• Eliminates skin irritations
• Protects the skin and moles on the face and neck
• Doesn’t require shaving foam or water
• You can use it on the dry or wet face
• It’s easy to clean because it’s fully washable
• You can use it anywhere because it’s cordless therefore portable
• You can keep the shaver stable in the included charging stand to which you connect the cable that goes into the mains
• Instead of replacing razors often, some of which being expensive, you only need to replace two parts (the foil and cutterblock) once in 18 months and they’re easy to find and affordable
• Recharges quickly, even in 5 minutes.
• Comes with all the accessories you need to do everything you want with your beard, starting with clean shaving and ending with cool beard styles
• It is available for an affordable price
One thing that might be a problem when you’re in a hurry is the time it takes to finish the face with an electric shaver, which is longer compared to classic razors, especially when you deal with a rough beard.

You can find the Braun Cruzer 6 Face electric razor in many stores including online shops, at prices around $60.

Besides Face, the Cruzer 6 series includes three more shaving devices. Cruzer beard&head trimmer helps you create modern beard and hair styles, featuring long battery life. On the other hand, Cruzer body hair trimmer with integrated Gillette Fusion blades was designed to help you remove hair from your entire body, including your face and sensitive areas like the armpits. You can use it even under the shower for trimming or clean shave. Cruzer high definition is a facial hair trimmer designed for mustache and sideburns, which enables high-precision when dealing with edges and contours.
