I was a bit surprised I couldn’t find Allview phones on GSMArena, so I decided to research on it in other places on the web, and that’s because I heard the handset is a high-end model launched at a very low price. Indeed, the Allview P5 Quad, released at Mobile World Congress 2013 by a Romanian company, is an elegant and minimalist smartphone powered by a quad-core Cortex-A7 processor that runs at 1GHz speeds. More than that, the handset comes with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, also featuring an 8MP camera, Yamaha audio amplifier, 3G HSDPA+ 21,4 Mbps, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and EDR, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n with tethering, expandable storage, a 4.5-inch multitouch display, Dual SIM, and a 2100mAh Li-Polimer battery that enables up to 5 hours of talk time in 3G or 230 hours of standby.

The 8MP camera module also supports 1080p Full HD video recording, touchfocus, LED flash, face detection, and geotagging, while there is also a front camera of 1MP. Besides these, the smartphone comes with the latest sensors and applications found in all the other smartphones in the same category.

Specs mention UMTS 900/1200 MHz for 3G which is maybe the main drawback if you’re outside Europe and need to use the phone in countries like US, where other bands are used. The second drawback would be that there are not many accessories designed for this phone either, besides the ones provided by Allview. Still, the price is incredible! You can pre-order it for about $329. Find out more about it on the official website, at Allview, and share your thoughts with me.

Wow, I’ve never heard of Allview either, but the phone sure *looks* nice. Have you ever heard of someone that actually uses a device from this manufacturer?
