Able Planet True Fidelity Active Noise Canceling Headphones with Linx Audio Review

Able Planet audio solutions have won many awards over time, not only for the superior design and functionality, but also for the innovative technologies developed for all levels of hearing. The company is known for its True Fidelity, Clear Harmony, Clear Voice, Extreme, and Sound Clarity lines including gaming headphones and assistive listening solutions, but the technology that stands out is Linx Audio.

Headphones featuring the patent-pending Linx Audio technology enhance both the speech clarity and sound quality, while keeping the volume at a low level. More exactly, they give you the impression that the sounds are loud and clear, but the volume remains at the same low level. This is possible by creating high frequency harmonics. The technology also filters unwanted sounds, reduces distortion, and restricts electromagnetic interference, while increasing the perceived loudness, without the need to increase the volume.

In addition to Linx Audio, Able Planet headphones feature Active Noise Cancellation that reduces ambient sounds by generating antinoise signals, allowing you to hear the characteristic white noise even when the headphones are not connected to a sound source.

True Fidelity (NC350BC) Active Noise Canceling Headphones with Linx Audio is the model I have received for this review and it features both the award-winning Linx Audio technology and Active Noise Cancellation. Specifications: Frequency Response: 20Hz – 20,000Hz; Sensitivity at 1 kHz: 115 dB (Off); 121 dB (On).

Additionally, they feature In-Line Volume Control for adjustments to safe listening levels, ergonomic and stable over-ear design, as well as support for iPods, iPhones and iPads. The InWire Headphone Remote and Mic System allows users to adjust the volume and play the next song on an iPad, iPhone or iPod.

The stereo headphones have a soft, adjustable headband, and are foldable, so you can keep them safe in the hard carrying case, along with the other included accessories.

Besides the sound, another favorite feature is the case that allows me to keep the headphones in one place, free of dust and scratches. The case has a small zip mesh pocket in which you can keep the airplane adapter, the AAA battery that activates the hearing technologies in crowded or noisy places, and the ¼ home stereo adapter which helps when you need to watch TV at a reasonable volume level, without disturbing others around. The cable is removable and connects to the headphones and the audio source via the standard 3.5-mm jacks. When not in use, you can unplug it and use the headphones only to reduce the noises around, in order to take a nap or read a book quietly.

In the box I also found the Able Planet limited lifetime warranty card that activates as you register the product on the official website.

My experience with True Fidelity Active Noise Canceling Headphones with Linx Audio

I love them! The sound is perfect even at high volume. I hear no distortion or weird noises. It seems impossible to increase the volume up to the maximum level with the Linx Audio turned on because the headphones start to vibrate like loudspeakers and the sound gets too loud for me, but there is still no distortion.

Unlike mid-ear headphones, which were my favorite until now even if they cause pain to my ears after an hour or so, the smart design of Able Planet headphones makes them very comfortable to wear for as long as I want. They are lightweight, soft and you can’t feel them on your head and ears. Although they are lightweight and comfy, the construction makes them very stable on the head and over ears. You should try them to see what I mean.
